What the employer pays

    Why this matters

    Agents often fold the iqama, the work permit and the recruitment fee into one big number. In Saudi Arabia, Article 40 of the Labor Law puts those on the employer.

    The Competition Commission found in 2025 that the Gulf approved medical centres fixed their fees and shared out customers. Its appeal tribunal upheld the finding.

    Check the agent

    Every licensed promoter has a licence number in the form OEPL No. 1234/RWP on the office board. Look it up on the BEOE list of active promoters, and check BEOE's complaint notices for warnings or blacklisting.
