FBR's special procedure for social media income takes the higher of your actual YouTube earnings and Rs 195 per 1,000 views. Expenses count up to 30% of revenue. Tax is paid in quarterly advance instalments. If you earned less, you must prove it.
When foreign payment for IT or IT enabled services is realised, the bank deducts 0.25% if you are registered with PSEB and 1% if not. It is your final tax if you file your return and statements.
Individuals pay on 15 September, 15 December, 15 March and 15 June. The return for Tax Year 2027 is due by 30 September 2027.
If your actual YouTube earnings are below Rs 195 per 1,000 views, FBR's figure stands unless you prove yours. The proof is the payment statements and the view analytics, kept month by month.
Checked 18 October 2026. The Rs 195 benchmark rests on FBR's April 2026 draft and press reports of the final rules notified around 23 September 2026; the final text was not available to read. It applies to YouTube only for now.
Not computed: sponsorships paid directly by brands, gifts in kind, AdMob app revenue, super tax, other income, and how bank deductions are credited against each quarterly instalment. These need an accountant.
